Project Supporters

George Cedric Metcalf Charitable Foundation

The Metcalf Environment Program seeks to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of people and organizations working together to ensure the ecological health and integrity of Canada's natural and working lands.

Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation

The core purpose of the Foundation is to provide support and encouragement for activities that preserve, protect, and restore the environmental integrity of the Oak Ridges Moraine and support a trail along it. The Foundation operates primarily by funding the work of others and through offering leadership or coordination for Moraine-wide activities where appropriate. The Foundation also sees itself as a convener, bringing people and interests together to identify common ground, and as a funding partner. The Foundation will encourage all activities that are consistent with its core purpose and objects and with the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan.

Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network (EMAN), Environment Canada

The main goal of the Ecological Monitoring and Assessment Network (EMAN) is to improve understanding of ecosystem changes in Canada - what is changing and why by examining integrated data and knowledge sets. The network is moving towards the ability to report on ecological changes and providing interdisciplinary and/or inter-jurisdictional assessments of ecosystem status, trends and processes on an ecozone or national basis. EMAN faces a continuing challenge to produce science-based and policy relevant reports on ecological status and trends in a timely fashion - better linking science to decision-making.

Centre for Land and Water Stewardship (CLAWS), University of Guelph

The Centre for Land and Water Stewardship is devoted to the promotion of research in the areas of conservation and nutrient management, and the dissemination of information on land and water resources.

Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources

The ministry is committed to protecting and managing the province's natural resources, or its "natural capital", and making the interest from that capital available for individuals, communities and economies that depend on it. In doing so, the Ministry contributes to the environmental, social and economic well-being of the people of Ontario, meeting not only today's needs, but also ensuring these resources are available for future generations.

York Environmental Stewardship Council

York Environmental Stewardship (YES) is made up of environmentally minded individuals who volunteer their time, interest, efforts, and skills to advance the responsible care of land and natural resources within the Region. Council members are dedicated to the wise use of forest, soil and water resources and represent private landowners, conservation/resource agencies and associations, environmentalists and naturalists. Local programs and needs are developed by council members with input from other organizations, agencies and local citizens. YES priorities include information and educational opportunities for landowners and environmental projects with partner organizations.

Durham Land Stewardship Council

The Durham Land Stewardship Council's vision is to work toward and promote the healthy and sustainable stewardship of agricultural, forest, and water resources in Durham Region for present and future generations.
